Western media personalities urged to improve knowldge and skills of National and local media on extractive sector reporting.

The media personalities in Ankole , kigezi and Rwenzori Sub region have been urged to improve and have the knowlgde and skills of national and local media on extractive sector reporting .

These have been said by the executive director of The African center for Energy and mineral policy (ACEMP) Mr Bwesigye Don in a two days from 29th – 30th march 2022 at pinnacle hotel in mbarara along nothern bypass mbararara city .

The Africa Centre for Energy and Mineral Policy (ACEMP) is a not for profit organization founded in 2012 under the laws of Uganda and duly registered with the National NGO Bureau. ACEMP is an Extractive Industries Policy, Research and Advocacy Think Tank and a Centre of Excellence promoting good governance, research, capacity building, equity, socio-economic justice and shared benefits in the development exploitation of energy and mineral resources in Uganda.

The executive director Mr Bwesigye also highlited the most top african countries that are mineral producers S. Africa , Nigeria , Algeria , Angola , and Libya .

Speaking at the same function the General secretary kibirigye Emmanuel said that minerals and natural resources belong to the government not individualism .

Hunter fm a radio station in Bushenyi that was presented by their programms director Byamaka sulait thanked the ACEMP officials for organizing the seminar for media personalities to improve on their reporting strategies on natural resources .

The seminar ended successfull by awarding certificate of Attendance.
