Uganda’s Steel Manufacturing giant, Steel & Tube Industries has been honored with BEST QUALITY STEEL MANUFACTURER AWARD IN UGANDA at the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives BUBU Corporate Awards.

The BUBU Expo is an annual three (3) day event under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC). The Best Quality Award was handed over to Steel & Tube during at the just concluded three (3) day EXPO that run from Friday 6th – Sunday 8th May 2022 at Kololo Airstrip.

In the Steel Quality Awards Segment, Steel & Tube industries came out No.1 on top ahead of steel titans Roofing’s Group, Yogi Steels Ltd, Pramukh Steel Ltd, Tian Tang Group Company (U) Ltd, Uganda Baati, Mesha Steel Limited, East African Steel Corporation Ltd and MM Integrated Steel Mills (U) Ltd and Tembo Steels (U) Ltd.

The BUBU Awards Committee was chaired by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives MTIC, supported by: Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Uganda Manufacturers’ Association(UMA), Private Sector Foundation(PSFU), Public Procurement & Disposal of Public Assets Authority(PPDA) and Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.

When this reporter contacted the Marketing Manager Steel & Tube Industries, Mr. Oscar Kamukama at Kololo Airstrip on Sunday night 8th May 2022 at the Awards Dinner, Mr. Kamukama said

The 1st Buy Uganda Build Uganda BUBU Expo held 7-9th March 2019 at Kololo Airstrip attracted 350 exhibitors, 45 sponsors in various categories and hosted 500 delegates to the BUBU Expo Awards Gala Dinner.he BUBU Expo is now one of the biggest events on the Ugandan calendar where Made in Uganda goods and services are displayed, viewed, and purchased by thousands of Ugandans who flock to Kololo Independence Grounds and millions view the activities over the various media platforms that cover the event.
