Speke Group Re-Opens Hotels While Observing “New Normal” Of Strict Covid-19 Protocols

By DailyNewsUG Correspondent,

As Uganda eases through quarantine, hotels are opening to a ‘new normal’ of strict health and safety protocols. Movement has been allowed by Presidential Directive, specific businesses allowed to open, Cars allowed on the road but they must beat curfew and be home by 7:00pm. Borders remain closed and Airports are shut down.

The Hospitality & Tourism sector contributed up to US$1.5 billion into Uganda’s basket in 2019 and was the single highest foreign exchange earner. The closure of Hotels therefore hurts the economy.
