Oscar Omony the Northern Youth MP has been involved in an accident. The accident occurred at 12;00pm at Aminakulu swamp, Oyam Sub county.
Omony, who was traveling to Kampala, was with his wife, daughter and the maid.
According to the Woman MP Omoro, Catherine Lamwaka, the vehicle registration number UWA 260Q in which Omoro was traveling in, collided with a Uganda National Roads Authority -UNRA vehicle Reg no URA 436Y, which was heading to Arua town.
Lamwaka says that Omoro’s driver avoided knocking a pedestrian who was crossing the road, and rammed into the UNRA vehicle.
Omony and his wife Denise Omony are admitted at Gulu Independent Hospital. Reports from the hospital indicate that Omony is currently in a stable condition. The occupants of the UNRA vehicle were rushed to St Mary’s Lacor Hospital, Gulu.
Thomas Lapyem, Omony’s brother says the driver is in critical condition after injuring both his legs.
The accident comes days after the Erute North MP, Charles Angiro Gutumoi Abacacon survived an accident at Karuma Bridge in Kiryandongo district.
