MAKERERE, KAMPALA |By David Mujuni| The Makerere University council has approved a 15% tuition increment beginning with the next academic year 2018/2019 which is expected to kick off this August. The council’s decision comes following a well analyzed report handed over by the Makerere University student leaders suggesting a 15% tuition increase for only new students.
Having received the guild report just a week ago, the University Vice-chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe has officially confirmed the council’s stand via his social media platforms. “Council has approved a new Fees Structure for undergraduate students starting 2018/2019 Academic Year with an increase of 15%. This will enable Management to make major improvements in service delivery and infrastructure so that our students can have an experience of a top University that Makerere is.” Nawangwe posted.
